Soul Care

Freedom Quinta is not simply a beautiful place to stay. It is a place with purpose.

Real rest. Real support. Real encounter with God.

Freedom Quinta is not simply a beautiful place to stay. It is a place with purpose – where rest is intentional, support is available, and the space itself is held in prayer.

Depending on what you need, your time here can look many different ways.

Some guests come simply to stop – to breathe, sleep, walk, and let the farm’s rhythms recalibrate their own. Others come with specific things to process, and benefit from the counselling, inner healing prayer, and spiritual direction available on site.

There is no programme to follow. No performance expected. You set the pace. We create the space.

God does the rest.

Inner Healing Prayer

Gentle, Spirit-led prayer ministry with Raquel, for healing in places that words sometimes can’t reach. For old wounds, recurring patterns, and the things that therapy alone doesn’t quite touch. Safe, unhurried, and profoundly kind.

Marriage Preparation

A beautiful, unhurried few days for engaged couples to prepare for the covenant of marriage - with guided reflection, prayer, honest conversation, and the space to hear from God together. Past couples have returned just to come back to this place.

Something happens when you slow down enough to watch things grow.

Freedom Quinta is, first and simply, a farm.

An old Portuguese quinta with more than a hundred fruit trees, ancient olive groves, grapevines, a vegetable garden, and animals that require feeding whether the rest of the world is in crisis or not. This is not incidental to the retreat experience. It is central to it.

There is something deeply healing about farm life. The seasons are honest. The animals are present and unbothered by your anxieties. The rhythm of morning chores, afternoon harvests, and evening quiet creates a structure that gently replaces the exhausting structure of ordinary life.

Quinta Life

What's on the farm.

100+ Fruit Trees

Oranges, lemons, figs, peaches, apples, and pears. Fruit in every season, abundance at every turn.

Ancient Olive Grove

The oldest living things on the quinta. The olive harvest is a particular highlight - hard, satisfying work that puts things back in proportion.

Vegetable Garden

Tended by Euridice with the attention of an artist. Seasonal, abundant, and the source of everything that reaches the table.

Farm Animals

Goats, chickens, geese, rabbits, and a dog who will find you wherever you’ve settled and decide to stay.

Grapevines

Winding through the quinta, the vines follow the seasons faithfully. The harvest is one of the great rhythms of the farm year.

Valley Views & Trails

Trails through the property and into the surrounding hills. The kind of walking that clears the head and settles the heart.

The table is always larger than you expect.

Farm Workshops

Euridice leads seasonal workshops open to guests and the local community: jam making with the summer fruits, chocolate design, traditional Portuguese cooking, and more. These are joyful, practical, community-building hours that connect people around a table and leave you with something to take home. Ask about what’s happening during your time here.

Community

This has always been a place where neighbours drop by, where local friends come to work alongside each other, where the community gathers for a meal and leaves knowing they were not alone. What is not used is passed on – abundance shared is part of the theology of this place. Bible study, prayer, workshops, harvest days with a BBQ… there is always room at the table.
